Lineup #1
You are at a party, and all of the other guests are standing in front of you. They each have the numbers 1-24 on their shirts. I have randomly chosen one of them – with the clues I provide, you must correctly guess the guest I have selected.
-If I am more likely to select a “teen” number than a single digit number, then I have ann odd number. If not, I have an even number.
-Knowing this, if I am more likely to select a number with 2 as one of its digits than I am to select a number with 1 as one of its digits, then I have selected a number evenly divisible by 11. If not, then I have selected a number whose digits add up to 3.
Dealing
Bob, Michelle, Dmitry, Sean, and Lyn are sitting at a table. They are randomly dealt cards in order from 1st to 5th as dictated by me, the dealer. I know I have dealt them the King of Hearts, the 5 of Spades, the 8 of Clubs, the 10 of Diamonds, and the Jack of diamonds. Use these clues to help you figure out what order the cards were dealt in and what cards were dealt to each person.
-The person with the Jack of Diamonds was dealt to first.
-Sean had a card with the suit of diamonds, and his card was higher than Michelle’s, but lower than Bob’s.
-Dmitry went 5th, and did not have the 8 of Clubs.
-Lyn had the lowest card and went directly after Michelle.
-Sean did not go first.
-The person with the 8 of Clubs went after Sean.
